Nexeye, the parent company of optical brands Hans Anders and eyes + more, officially joined the Belgian Diversity Charter in early October. This makes the optical group one of the first companies in Belgium to actively commit to the initiative. The signing marks a new step in nexeye’s international commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion, following earlier endorsements of the Diversity Charters in Germany, Austria and Sweden.
The Belgian Diversity Charter is part of a European network of national charters that unite organizations in their commitment to inclusive workplaces. It provides a practical framework for concrete actions, knowledge sharing, and collaboration to embed diversity sustainably within companies.
“Diversity is part of our organization’s DNA,” says Graziella Cali, HR Director Belgium at nexeye. “Our stores and teams reflect the society we operate in, from Belgium’s linguistic diversity to the many cultures, ages and backgrounds that together form our strength. By signing the Belgian Diversity Charter, we reaffirm our ambition to create a workplace where every colleague and customer feels welcome, valued and heard.”
During the official kick-off of the Belgian Diversity Charter on September 26 in Mechelen, a diverse group of signatories, partners and ambassadors came together to exchange experiences and gain inspiration. Nexeye participated on behalf of its Belgian brands Hans Anders and eyes + more, alongside organizations such as Carrefour, Sodexo, Inditex and the Institute for the Equality of Women and Men.
“We are proud to be part of the first group of companies in Belgium to make this commitment,” continues Graziella Cali. “We are already doing a lot in the field of diversity and inclusion, but we want to make our efforts even more visible and continue to challenge ourselves in areas we know less well. With enthusiasm, we will keep building an inclusive future in the coming years – together with our colleagues in all the countries where we operate.”
Nexeye operates in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Sweden and is developing an overarching strategy for diversity, equality, and inclusion (DE&I). While respecting the uniqueness of each country, the company connects all its teams through shared values such as fairness, openness, and togetherness. The signing of the Belgian Diversity Charter marks a new step in this European approach and reinforces nexeye’s belief that diversity drives innovation, customer focus and sustainable growth.
