Hans Anders wins Shopping Award 2021

GORINCHEM - Hans Anders wins the prestigious gold award in the Optical category at the 2021 Shopping Awards! The eyewear retailer credits this success to a successful omni-channel strategy.

Michelle Nederveen, E-commerce Manager: ‘This award gives recognition to all our team members who work hard every day to create an optimal omni-channel customer experience. We don’t just use e-commerce to offer a direct sales environment; we specifically seek out collaboration with all our shops to place the customer at the centre of what we do. This is how we can create added value for our customers, regardless of whether this Hans Anders is online or a physical shop. The fact we’ve won this prize gives us extra motivation to further optimise the (digital) customer experience, and to keep investing in our omni-channel approach. We are over the moon with it.’

According to the Shopping Awards expert jury, eyewear is ‘a rather awkward product to sell online, especially to consumers who are in the market for their first pair of glasses.’ Hans Anders knows this like no other. ‘Online sales are certainly not the only priority in our web shop,’ says Michelle. ‘The website offers plenty of options for information gathering to customers in the orientation phase. For instance, customers can virtually try on our frames and have their favourites sent to a shop to physically try them on. The perfect example of how Hans Anders has bridged the fun of online shopping and the trust they put into the advice of their local optician.’

According to the jury report, online and shops are seamlessly aligned so that Hans Anders ensures the customer experience is optimal and frictionless. Expert jury: ‘In the aim of serving a broad audience, young people to old people with visual issues, the simplicity of the site is its strength.’
